Welcome Home Military Heroes Scholarship Program

• Only students currently enrolled at a local community college, university or trade school will be considered and awarded a scholarship.
• Once an application has been submitted, you will NOT be able to make changes. Incomplete applications will not be considered for scholarships. Please review your application thoroughly prior to submitting. You may save your application and return to it as many times as you would like until you feel ready to submit.
• Applications will not be accepted after August 31, 2023.
• There is a 45-minute time out feature while working on the application. Every time you go to the next page you start with another 45 minutes. As you answer each question and navigate to the next question, your information is saved. If the application times out due to inactivity you will lose unsaved information. You will get a brief warning before the application closes.

• Proof of Service: Please upload one of the following items as proof of your honorable discharge of military service or currently serving on active-duty reserves.

This documentation will help verify your eligibility for the scholarship.

• An electronic PDF copy of your current unofficial transcript with cumulative GPA (if available) and schedule of current classes.

• Letters of Recommendation:  The student is responsible for uploading the required documents along with their completed application.

Please provide 2-3 letters of recommendation from individuals who can speak to your character, your service, and your qualifications for the scholarship. These letters should highlight your strengths, achievements, and potential for success in college.

Other Letter of Recommendation considerations:

• It is advisable that you list 2 or 3 recommenders in case one does not respond.
• The student is responsible for uploading the required documents along with their completed application.
• Don’t wait until the last minute to ask for a recommendation as they may not be able to accommodate your request.

Scholarship decision letters and all official communication will be sent to your e-mail account.

• Scholarship awards will be presented at the Welcome Home Military Heroes Awards Ceremony. Participation in the ceremony will be required from scholarship recipients unless otherwise stipulated.

• The date and location of the Awards Ceremony will be provided to the selected veteran upon notification.
