7 April 2016: Three local troops serving overseas returned home today to a very warm welcome at the San Luis Obispo Airport.
Paul Santiago, Angel Ortiz, and Loren Weeks of the Army National Guard served 11 months in Kabul, Afghanistan. The three say some of the things they have missed the most are family, dogs, California, and food.
They say the thing they want to eat the most is tri tip from San Luis Obispo and well-cooked steak, not boiled.
The event was organized by family and Welcome Home Military Heroes.
