Veteran Vehicle Salutes were created in response to COVID-19 to continue honoring our military heroes during the global pandemic. Whether it’s a veteran’s birthday, the anniversary of their service, or any occasion deserving of recognition, we bring together local law enforcement, our members, and other veteran nonprofit organizations to celebrate your hero. During the event, we drive by, honking and revving engines, then park to present them with a certificate, a challenge coin, and a heartfelt veterans salute. If it’s their birthday, we also sing “Happy Birthday.” Since 2020, we have honored over 800 veterans through this mission, with the youngest being a 19-year-old returning from deployment and the oldest being 108 years old WWII Veteran. We conduct Veteran Vehicle Salutes as far north as Cambria, CA, and as far south as Santa Barbara, CA. Events can range from 5 to 30 vehicles, depending on the time and date of the event and existing community activities. This mission is typically performed on weekends, unless there is a special request.
