Please join us for a SURPRISE drive-by celebration for 93-year-old WWII Navy veteran!

The shelter at home has been isolating for so many, and this will definitely make Mr. Pacheco and his family smile!

DATE: Saturday, 9 May 2020

TIME: 2:00 pm

BRIEFING: 2:15 pm (you must be at the briefing)

STAGE/MEETING PLACE: Pioneer High School, 675 Panther Drive, SANTA MARIA

DETAILS/SAFETY MEASURES
1. MEET/STAGING AREA: Pioneer High School Parking Lot at 2:00 pm (Please be there no later than 2:15 pm for mandatory briefing)

2. REMAIN: In your vehicles, as we are practicing social distancing. If you exit to stretch your legs, please remain near your vehicle.

3. BRIEFING: The escort briefing will be live on Facebook at the Welcome Home Military Heroes Public page and will start at 2:20 pm. Make sure to bring your charged smartphone to join the briefing “live” briefing on our Facebook page. If you don’t have Facebook, we will brief you in your car.

4. DEPARTURE: After the briefing, we will line up the caravan/convoy in order and depart at 2:25 pm.

HEADLIGHTS/HAZARD LIGHTS: Please turn them on when we line up to exit the staging area. DRIVE SLOW.

5. EXITING PARKING LOT: Follow all traffic laws. As we approach the location, the lead vehicle will start honking and making a lot of noise. That is your signal to do the same and the vehicle behind you needs to honk their horn too!

6. CARDS, POSTERS: You make give a card or poster to the designated person at the location, they will reach for it. (Please make sure you have a mask and gloves on.)

7. SALUTE: If you wish to salute our veteran, please stop, put the emergency brake on, exit vehicle and render your salute. No handshakes, please.

8. DECORATE YOUR CAR: Feel free to decorate your car with flags etc.

9. EXIT: Safely drive away from the location
