Our hearts aced when we learned the news that Boyd Bristol passed away. Mr. Bristol who was an Army Veteran, was heavily involved in Veteran events all across the Central Coast. He was a proud member of the American Legion Post 66 in San Luis Obispo, CA. On July 27, Welcome Home Military Heroes held a flag line for him. We wanted to honor our good friend!

Boyd Edwin Bristol, 37, passed away on July 8, 2018, in San Luis Obispo. He was born to Dale and Betty Bristol on May 4, 1981, in San Luis Obispo. He graduated from Riverdale High School. Boyd entered the U.S. Army and served his country in 101st Airborne Division in South Korea and Iraq and was awarded the Army Achievement Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and National Defense Service Medal. He completed his bachelor’s degree at Chapman University in Hanford, California. Boyd worked as a mechanic for many years. He enjoyed hunting, working on cars, playing pool, skydiving and spending time with his friends and family. Boyd was an active member of Native Sons and American Legion, where he served and spent most of his time. Boyd is survived by his children: Kaylee Marie Bristol and Blake Edwin Bristol; mother, Betty Sue Bristol; brothers: Jeffrey Scott Bristol, Jonathan Alan Bristol and Eric Paul Bristol; and sister, Judith Ann Wanstreet. He was preceded in death by his father, Dale Edwin Bristol.
