Join us for a heartfelt Veteran Vehicle Salute in Santa Barbara on November 2nd at 12:30 PM! This event is a wonderful opportunity to honor our military heroes and show our appreciation for their service.

What is a Veteran Vehicle Salute?
A Veteran Vehicle Salute is a special gathering where community members come together in their vehicles to pay tribute to veterans. Participants decorate their vehicles with flags, banners, and signs to express their gratitude and support for those who have served in the military. This event not only celebrates our heroes but also raises awareness about the sacrifices they have made for our freedom.

Why is it Important?
Events like the Veteran Vehicle Salute are crucial in recognizing the bravery and dedication of our service members. They provide a platform for the community to show solidarity and support, reminding veterans that their sacrifices have not gone unnoticed. It fosters a sense of camaraderie and encourages conversations about the challenges faced by veterans, ensuring that they feel valued and appreciated.

How the Event Works:
When you arrive at the staging location, we ask the driver to get out and mingle with the other volunteers. Before we leave the staging area, a representative from Welcome Home Military Heroes will provide a briefing about the veteran, the route, the order of vehicles, and any other important rules to follow.

Once we’re lined up, we’ll head out to the veteran’s location, honking and waving as we go. After passing the veteran, we will find the closest parking spot, get out of our vehicles, and conduct a small ceremony for the veteran. This ceremony typically includes singing “Happy Birthday” (if it’s their birthday), presenting challenge coins and certificates from various veteran nonprofits and politicians, mail call, and a salute. The entire process, including staging, the drive, and the ceremony, usually takes no more than an hour.

Rules:

1. Welcome Home Military Heroes is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and does not support any political party. No political flags or signs are allowed at our events.
2. All vehicles in our salute must be street legal.
3. When you arrive at the staging location, please back into your parking spot.
4. When we are heading to the veteran, please follow all traffic laws.
5. Make sure your emergency blinkers are on.
6. Follow all directions from the event organizer(s).

We invite all veterans, their families, and supporters to participate. Let’s come together to celebrate and recognize the sacrifices made by those who serve our country.
