Buellton, CA: After over 1200 Welcome homes across the Central Coast, we finally were able to surprise a Soldier who returned home from Iraq. The specialist has been in the Army for just over a year, but already served his country honorably. It was a rainy day but that didn’t stop Welcome Home Military Heroes from coming out.
“I thought this welcome home would be small. We never been in this city before and the weather was not good at all. I was 100% wrong” -Robert Tolan Jr -VP of WHMH
Over 80 people showed up for this event. The event started when 15 trucks with big American flags picked up the Soldier and his family at their house. He thought escorting him around time was his surprise. But they drove right up to the 80 or more people which included his family and close friends!
“The excitement he showed was unbelievable! I will never forget this welcome home” -Cheryl Tolan -Sec of WHMH

Since the welcome home, Welcome Home Military Heroes has received over 100 request to join their alert roster… all coming from the Santa Ynez Valley. They also have been interviewed by several news organizations in the area. Once those stories are shared, we will post them on this site.

The Soldier is still in the Army and will be heading back to his Military Post in Texas where he will start training for his next deployment.
