Community members came together to honor the birthday of a Central Coast veteran on Veterans Day.
Vietnam War veteran Joe Beaudet turned 77 on Wednesday.
Beaudet had the honor of celebrating both Veterans Day and his birthday with friends and family with a drive-by salute in Orcutt.
There were about 40 people who attended the celebration, saying in part, “Veterans honoring a veteran on Veterans Day is something special.”
“Please, thank you, everybody, for such a wonderful turnout. It couldn’t be a more happy day. It’s beautiful, thank you so much,” Beaudet said.
He was presented with gifts and commemorative coins from local veteran organizations.
