Retired US Air Force Colonel, Oscar Byer, is celebrating his 95th birthday.

Bayer served in War World II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War.

He’s earned multiple medals including: the Purple Heart, Air Force Distinguished Service Medal, and the Distinguished Flying Cross.

Welcome Home Military Heroes says Bayer was a navigator in the Seventh and Tenth Air Forces and flew F-4 Phantom with more than 140 missions in Vietnam.

Welcome Home Military Heroes gave Bayer a drive-by honor salute in Arroyo Grande Sunday afternoon.

Bayer says the ceremony was unbelievable.

“To be honored like this is unbelievable. To live this long to have it happen – it’s great,” Bayer said.
