Welcome Home Military Heroes is proud to announce the appointment of U.S. Army Veteran Vincent Garcia Jr. to its Board of Directors and his new leadership role as one of our Mission Commanders.

Vincent’s 15-year military career includes service as a 19K Tanker and later as a Chaplain’s Assistant, a rare and impactful combination that has shaped both his time in uniform and his post-military mission to serve others. His deployments included Iraq, Korea, and Kosovo, where he brought both strength and compassion to those he served beside.

Vincent has long been part of our WHMH family — working behind the scenes with Co-Founder Robert Tolan Jr., helping organize events, support veterans, and serve as Assistant Bus Leader on every Honor Flight Central Coast mission since Spring 2023. He’s been the calming presence for our veterans, showing up early, staying late, and ensuring every hero we serve feels appreciated and at peace.

At the direction of the Tolan Family and our board leadership, Vincent has now been entrusted with a major responsibility: revitalizing and expanding one of our key missions to not only continue on the Central Coast but to grow into a national and international effort. While details of this expanded mission will be revealed in the coming months, know that Vincent is already working hard behind the scenes to make it happen.

In addition, Vincent will join a special board-appointed task force to develop a groundbreaking veteran support initiative. This large-scale mission is set to unfold over the next five years, with a full public launch in 2030. It will be one of the most ambitious and impactful efforts WHMH has ever undertaken.

We’re honored to have Vincent officially join the Board and take command of these vital missions. His heart, dedication, and faith inspire all of us — and we can’t wait to see what’s ahead with him leading the charge.

Welcome to the board, Vincent. Welcome to the mission.
